After working forty years as an employee, a manager, and business owner, here's what I've learned. It's rare to find people who have lots of money and all the time they want to spend the way they want. Usually someone who has lots of time, doesn't have much money. On the other hand, those people who seem to have lots of money, usually don't have much time, they work long days. The people that are making the most money, and have the time to do what they want, when they want, are almost always business owners who are using the power of LEVERAGE. They are leveraging the time and efforts of other people either as employees or independent contractors to increase their production, and ultimately their income, which gives them more time to do as they want.

Let me give you some examples:

The mom and pop restaurant in town that has three employees besides mom and pop. Mom and pop are able to increase their income and time because of the three employees. Mom and pop are leveraging the time and efforts of the three employees.

The local plumbing company in your city that employs ten plumbers. The owner of the company is able to multiply his income by being able to do ten different repair jobs at the same time. This would not be possible if the owner was working alone. The owner of this plumbing company is using the power of leverage to increase his income and allows him more time to do as he wishes.

The large corporation like Wal Mart that has thousands of employees around the world is able to produce a much higher volume of sales, and in the end more profits, through the use of leveraging of other peoples time and effort.

The Century 21 franchise owner who has 30 independent real estate sales people, who are on straight commission from the sales they make. The owner of this franchise derives his income from receiving part of the commission of each of the agents making home sales. The Century 21 owner is leveraging the time and efforts of the real estate agents.

How about the pizza franchiser who has sold 5000 pizza franchises around the world. The franchiser is earning royalties off each location that has been sold. He/she is leveraging the time and efforts of multiple people at those locations.

Another example would be the network marketer. In network marketing, each independent distributor/consultant has the option to build an organization of like minded business people, that market the product or service of the company they represent. The network marketer is able to profit from everyone in his organization by receiving commission on their sales. The network marketer is using the power of leverage to increase his income and free time.

In conclusion, you have a choice to be an employee and get paid by the hour and be leveraged by someone else, or find a business that you're able to leverage other people's efforts to increase your income and have more time freedom in your life. The choice is yours.
